Kimball Hughes Public Relations, a national public relations agency specializing in reputation and crisis communications management for the B2B market, announced it welcomes James T. McKinsey as its newest public relations manager. He brings three years of public relations account management experience with clients in the offshore wind, tourism, government and nonprofit sectors. That experience included shaping and leading strategic crisis communications efforts.
“James’ experience on a small public relations team provided him with a unique, hands-on role where he served as client liaison, strategist, counselor and media relations coordinator,” said Rod Hughes, agency vice president and principal. “Having successfully navigated these diverse and key roles for the past three years, we’re confident he’ll make a fine addition to our team and help our clients’ succeed in their communications goals.”
In his new role, McKinsey will work with Kimball Hughes PR clients in the association, tourism, clean energy, technology and insurance industries, among others. He will also support the agency’s work with crisis communications matters.
Previously he served three years with a full-service marketing agency in Connecticut. Before that he spent nearly one year handling public relations matters on behalf of financial institutions with an agency in New York.
McKinsey earned his bachelor’s in communications from the University of Hartford and a master’s degree in public relations from Boston University. He is a resident of Uncasville, Connecticut, and can be reached at jmckinsey@kimballpr.com.
