Utah Office of Tourism (UOT) announced its partnership with J Public Relations (JPR), named as the public relations agency of record for the state of Utah. JPR is a global public relations and social media firm specializing in travel and hospitality with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, San Diego and London. The Utah account will be serviced from both the Los Angeles and San Diego offices.
“We are honored to be selected to represent the state of Utah,” said Jamie O’Grady, founding partner, J Public Relations. “Through the process that led to our partnership, we had the opportunity to discover our team’s excitement and deep connections to the dynamic destination. Myself and nearly half of our agency have created distinct, meaningful memories through skiing, hiking, urban visits and road trips just within the last year. I am confident that our passion and enthusiasm for Utah will be one of the most powerful engines for success.”
Equally impassioned about the importance of travel and tourism, JPR continues to strengthen its proficiencies in public relations and grow within the larger marketing services industry. Over the past year, it has become the public relations agency of record for top-tier brands and travel destinations, in addition to retooling its social media and analytics arms to provide fully-integrated and informed solutions to its clients. The firm was also named amongst Observer’s “PR Power 50” as one of the most powerful PR firms in the country, as well as O’Grady being featured in Forbes as the woman who is “dictating where you’re traveling.”
JPR will utilize these tools and market expertise to develop a strategic public relations campaign that focuses on experiences that are distinctive, local, native, authentic and exclusively Utah. The media outreach plan will focus on leveraging Utah’s tourism opportunities to increase earned and positive media coverage as well as visitation to the state to sustain long-term tourism growth.
“We are inspired by J Public Relations’ team’s plans to tell the Utah story,” said Vicki Varela, Managing Director for the Utah Office of Tourism and Film. “They clearly understand how to pitch that Mother Nature played favorites in Utah. Their proposal stood out in our national search because they generated fresh and creative strategies. They also have wonderful relationships with travel journalists.”
Collaboratively, UOT and JPR will convey the essence and diversity of Utah’s unrivaled parks and outdoor spaces, world-class recreation, dining, art, history, culture, shopping and mountain recreation with “The Greatest Snow on Earth®,” and the inimitable moments they foster. From photographing the dark skies to taking on the open road to the country’s largest national park, tastings from the cheese caves in Salt Lake City’s sought-after Urban Corridor or hiking through a series of horseshoe-shaped amphitheaters to arrive to one of the most remarkable sunsets in Bryce Canyon, the state of Utah offers inspiring “Utah Life Elevated®” experiences for every visitor.
