Services to take place Tuesday, June 6 at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts
RALEIGH, N.C. (June 1, 2023) Funeral plans for Conen Morgan, a well-known political consultant, have been announced. The Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 6 at the Martin Marietta Center for the Performing Arts at 2 E South Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 at 11 a.m. The family will receive guests beginning at 10 a.m.
Conen Morgan was a political strategist and former president of the Young Democrats of North Carolina. Having worked on numerous local, state and federal democratic political races through his company LongLeaf Agency, he was highly sought after throughout the U.S. Tributes from Governor Roy Cooper, Rep. Robert Reives, Mayor Vi Lyles and various others were posted on social media, while the North Carolina’s delegation including Congresswomen Alma Adams and Valerie Foushee and Congressmen Riley Nickel and Don Davis paid tribute to Morgan on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday. In addition to his passion for politics, Morgan was also an instrumental figure in North Carolina Science Olympiad, where he was honored with the Dr. Jason L. Painter Distinguished Service Award.
Morgan was married to Reyna Walters-Morgan, director of civic engagement and voter protection for the Democratic National Committee, for seven years. He graduated from Garner High School and from N.C. State University.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be made in Conen’s memory to the NC Science Olympiad. Family and friends are also invited to share their photo memories of Conen on his obituary page.
