Mission Control by Adam Ritchie Brand Direction is a staff training and program development session which raises teams’ idea creation capabilities and helps them assemble breakthrough campaigns.

Agency Principal Adam Ritchie spent 20 years identifying the strategies behind the most successful campaigns and organizing them into a series of teachable moves. Each move corresponds with a letter of the alphabet and contains several variations. Every variation is supported with a real-world example where the move was deployed effectively.

The first part of the session is called Flight Training, where these timeless moves are revealed and discussed. The second part is called Secret Weapon, where Ritchie helps marketing teams apply variations and combinations to their own brands and create something new.

“Companies want to make the most of the people they already have,” said Ritchie. “Mission Control is designed to open eyes and develop talent. If a good idea can come from anywhere, this inspires team members at all levels and helps them come up with the big idea that makes all the difference.”

When a prototype of Mission Control was delivered to MGH, an integrated marketing agency in Baltimore, EVP Chris McMurry said it “helped my team step back from the minutiae of day-to-day work, think differently about how they approach their brands and gave them actionable ideas.” One attendee said it “reminded me what I love about creative marketing.”

Ritchie has spoken at more than 50 universities and professional conferences including South by Southwest in Austin, Content Marketing World in Cleveland, the PRSA International Conference in San Diego, the IABC World Conference in Chicago and The Museum of Public Relations in New York. A PRSA ICON attendee said Ritchie’s session was “worth the entire cost of the conference.”
