Essentia, a pioneer of ionized alkaline bottled water in the U.S., has chosen Interpublic Group agency DeVries Global to lead its communications efforts in the U.S. The agency will join a multi-functional agency roster to help drive strategic communications programs around brand equity and campaign initiatives.

“We are at such an amazing inflection point for our company, I’m thrilled we’ve found the perfect PR partner in DeVries with the right blend of team talent, creativity and breadth of expertise to help us take the Essentia brand to the next level,” said Kazumi Mechling, Senior Director of Corporate Communications, Essentia Water. Upon awarding the business to DeVries, Karyn Abrahamson, VP Marketing and Brand Innovation, stated, “We are confident that the teams’ holistically-driven strategy and most importantly, brand understanding and passion are great complements to our vision. We look forward to welcoming DeVries Global to our Essentia Nation.”

DeVries Global, an international integrated communications specialty firm with offices across the U.S., Asia and Europe, will be charged with communications strategy and activation that helps drive broad awareness across earned channels as well as support Essentia’s fully integrated marketing efforts.

“We are incredibly driven by Essentia’s story and commitment to improving peoples’ lives through better hydration,” said Jessica O’Callaghan, Regional Managing Director, NA, DeVries Global. “U.S. bottled water sales surpassed soda for the first time in 2016, and Essentia, with its unique properties and proposition, is an engine of that growth. Our goal is to help them share their story with a wider audience and continue to inspire others.”
